The RMG Wire Straightening and Cutting Machine produces the precut longitudinal wires used on the MBK Cage-making Machine. For maximum cost efficiency, reinforcement longitudinals can be manufactured from the same raw material used for the circumferential wire used on the MBK machine. The longitudinals are automatically straightened, cut to the specified length, and stored for bulk transfer to the cage-making machine. Equipped with an electronic counter, the straightening and cutting machine operates unattended and automatically stops once the desired number of longitudinals are produced.
System Benefits
- Precut longitudinals permit cages to be produced that set true vertically on the pallet. There’s no need to manually cut part or all the longitudinals as the cage comes off of the Cage-making machine.
- Cage machine changeover is simplified as a wire carrier is not required for each longitudinal.
- Respooling of drawn wire onto separate carriers is not required.
- Precut longitudinals simplify the design of the cage making machine for easier operation and maintenance.
